Deanna Fainelli's artistic practice emerged from a foundation in graphic design and photojournalism—disciplines that trained her eye for composition, narrative, and the subtle visual moments that now anchor her work. Largely self-taught, she draws inspiration from Robert Rauschenberg's experimental layering, Helen Frankenthaler's fluid gestures, and Richard Diebenkorn's sense of place.

Her paintings challenge conventional notions of beauty by blending acrylic and oil pigments across varied substrates, creating layered compositions that invite viewers into a shared visual conversation. The work has been exhibited throughout California—at SFMOMA Artist Gallery at Fort Mason, Stanford University, the Palm Springs Art Museum, and Rancho Mirage—and featured nationally through collaborations with CB2.

Now based in the Palm Springs area, Deanna finds inspiration in motion and curiosity, often riding her bright blue bike through the desert landscape. For her, creativity thrives best when approached with an open spirit and a willingness to discover what lies just beyond the familiar.
