Collection: Shepard Fairey
Bio:
Frank Shepard Fairey (b. February 15, 1970, Charleston, South Carolina) is a renowned American street artist, graphic designer, and activist. He gained prominence in 1989 with his "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" sticker campaign, which evolved into the OBEY GIANT art project. Fairey's work often combines elements of graffiti, pop art, and political messaging. He is perhaps best known for his iconic 2008 "Hope" poster featuring then-presidential candidate Barack Obama, which became a symbol of the campaign and is now housed in the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery.
Throughout his career, Fairey has used his art to address social and political issues, including climate change, racial equality, and anti-authoritarianism. His works are characterized by bold colors, propaganda-style imagery, and thought-provoking themes.
